I love good cool days that are cozy, light a fire and play some piano. I started teaching myself piano in July of 2020. After 3 months of playing, I started writing songs. I did take piano lessons from a talented teacher for a while. I have always loved the piano ever since I listened to Billy Joel for the first time when I was 14. I tried to read music and play but I never could get the concept until I practiced patience. As I got older, the practice was slower and so was my memory. I really worked hard these 3 years to study chords and learn. I love it more than ever.
Creative types are usually pretty patience and love to explore different ways of expressing themselves. Love what you do and you will go far!Â
Some of the things I also like to do is cook. I have to admit, I was a bad cook when I was first married. My husband was so adorable and never criticized my cooking. Over the years, I have gotten better. When I lived in Oregon, I learned to can my own food from our garden. I made jam and canned vegetables and my husband hunted for deer, or venison. It was a great way to sustain our family during the winter time. I learned so much from growing my own food. No pesticides and our soil was so healthy. I still can apple butter and fruit jams. I bake pies with my granddaughters and buy organic. In the 43 years that I have known my husband, no matter what I bake or cook, he's kind about complimenting me on my effort. I think that's what we all need, a cheering squad to help us along and not worry about the small stuff. I love to be that cheerleader for anyone who needs to know they are good at something. Pick your brain, come up with an idea that gets you pumped up! I love to see the creative juices flowing when people make clothing or crafts to sell online. Who knew an idea would be so rewarding?Â
Playing piano, running my businesses, and being with family are the fulfilling things I do to make life enjoyable. I am allowed to have a bad day. I am allowed to feel blue or anxious. I am also allowed to be happy. I get excited when what I learn get better with time. I wasn't a patient person. Raising 3 kids and working full time was hard. Each year got easier for me and I have the confidence to share my music on Facebook and Instagram. I'm not about being popular or getting millions of likes online. I like sharing what I know and hopefully it will help someone else.
I never would have imagined I would be writing a blog. Well, I am a writer so, why not? I want my fans to get to know me and see what I'm made of. If any of you are enjoying my books, thank you!Â
Remember, do something good for yourself and let your creative side show! A
